Oven Toasted Hazelnuts

This EPIC cooking hack will change your life, improve your cooking, and make you love hazelnuts all over again!

Hazelnuts are so wintery with their toasty, nutty flavor and hearty crunch. I use them all the time in both sweet and savory dishes throughout the fall and winter months, and I keep a jar of these Oven Toasted Hazelnuts in the pantry because they’re just so deliciously satisfying to snack on. I sometimes throw a handful into my Jar of Crunchies to add a bit of that distinct hazelnutty flavor to the mix.

A lot of people avoid hazelnuts because of their stubborn skins, but this recipe actually makes hazelnuts super fun to work with for that very reason. The trick to getting those fussy little skins off of your hazelnuts? Throw ‘em in the oven and then, shake shake shake! Once roasted and cooled, the vigorous shaking in your bare hands or a kitchen towel will instantly cause the skins to shed. Poof, magic!

Watch how satisfying it is to make these HERE. See? Poof, magic! Now you can embrace the beauty of hazelnuts for everything from encrusted meats to poached fruit, or just for yummy winter snacking.
